CITY Day Pack – A Versatile Backpack for Every Scene

A simple, stylish backpack that complements any outfit, now enhanced with functional features to make it suitable even for business settings – this is the concept behind the CITY Day Pack. Born alongside the launch of UNTRACK, this backpack embodies the brand’s philosophy and the intentions behind its creation.

When asked which item best represents UNTRACK, I answer without hesitation: the CITY Day Pack. It was the very first product we developed, and it perfectly captures the brand’s ethos – bridging urban life and outdoor adventures, seamlessly moving between on and off duty.

The choice to focus on a backpack reflects contemporary lifestyle changes. As work styles have become more flexible and business attire more casual, backpacks have become increasingly common in daily life. I myself commute with a backpack every day, and it seems that more than half of business professionals now do the same. With this in mind, we wanted to create a backpack that fits effortlessly into any style while remaining professional enough for business use – and this was the starting point for the CITY Day Pack.

Despite its simple appearance, the CITY Day Pack is packed with practical features. The top pocket, for example, allows quick access to smartphones, business cards, or other essentials even when standing on a crowded train.

The side pockets are also carefully designed. One side has an open pocket for easy access, while the other features a hidden zippered “function pocket” for secure storage. By intentionally designing asymmetrical sides, we created versatile storage options, all positioned for convenient access while wearing the backpack.

For business use, we added a dedicated laptop compartment. Its “2.5-layer structure” separates gadgets like mice and numeric keypads from wet bottles or umbrellas, keeping everything organized and protected.

Comfort and ergonomics were also key priorities. Using body data from approximately 80 employees, we developed a proprietary Universal Harness that naturally fits a wide range of body shapes. Mesh padding on the back panel and harness ensures comfort even during warmer months.

Attention to detail extends to the smallest elements: side pockets inspired by chino pants, and vintage-style zipper pulls, called “Ogi Talon,” recreated exclusively for this backpack. Every subtle detail reflects our commitment to combining function with refined design.
